:)Kudo's to Steve for his caring and action in forming Guttenhouse for foster children that have aged out of the system. These kids have a home of sorts one day and none the next just because they turned 18. How is this funded? I didn't see a specific site for Guttenhouse and was wondering how donations could be made.

Thank you for your interest in Guttenhouse!
You can send donations for Guttenhouse to either of the addresses belowI am also including a bit of into about Guttenhouse. (in Steves words)
I found that more than sixty percent of the emancipated foster youth become homeless and I thought it would be great to build a place where they can live safely so they wouldn't have to live on the street. That's where the idea came from. It's a place to learn life skills. It has two apartments. One on the bottom and one on the top. Both have a foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, a little laundry room, nice bathroom and two nice bedrooms. They are about 1500 square feet each and were decorated beautifully by a Beverly Hills decorator so that the girls get a sense of what is nice and right. That way they won't be intimidated when they go to a Beverly Hills office to get a job. It houses four girls. Each girl has her own bedroom. They share the bathroom. It features beautiful carpet and terrific big time furniture -- cherry wood. It also has a top of the line refrigerator. There's also a garage. The girls pay $300.00 a month in rent and they get all that money back in two years, which gives them a nice little nest egg. they learn how to balance a checking account, how to get a drivers license at the DMV, how to deal with paycheck taxes, shopping, cleaning, laundry ... all the life skills. The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) handles the The Gutten House Foundation. If anyone wants to contribute, the money would go to EIF in Los Angeles and be earmarked for The Guttenhouse. All donations should be made out to the Guttenhouse. The money goes to buy things in the house.
Be sure to send a note with the contribution requesting that the money be earmarked to help the Guttenhouse.

Hey! Im new here. I think Steve Guttenberg is an amazing person. It is so awesome to see someone truly using his resources to help people in need. Too often you hear of famous people spending so much money on material goods. I often wonder if they realize how they could help others by extending their good fortune with those who are in need!

Hi Shocktart. Welcome. I guess this board isn't updated that often... as you and I seem to be the only active members in the last few days. Lets hope this board gets some more life soon.
